For Dr. Montessori, every educator must follow the child, recognizing the evolving needs and characteristics of each age, building a favorable environment, both physical and spiritual, to respond to those needs.
The child’s development arises from the need to adapt to his or her environment: the child needs to make sense of the world around him or her and build himself or herself in relation to that world. An environment prepared to favour this tendency is a physical and emotional space specifically prepared for a specific objective.
Our space is real, simple and aesthetic, where each element has its raison d’être in the development of the child and has been specifically designed to facilitate maximum independence of learning and exploration by children.
Each space offers maximum opportunities for the holistic development of mind, body and emotions. It is an environment tailored to the needs of children and adapted to the needs of each phase of development. In it, children freely choose the activities that most appeal to their sensitive periods and human tendencies.
The following describes the characteristics of our curriculum and environment prepared according to the needs and psycho-pedagogical particularities of the child of each educational stage, as well as the essential elements.
The essential elements include in a written form the specific objectives for each stage:
